Imaging
- Laser
Today, more and more clients are asking for data
driven personalization, which has led us to explore opportunities in
laser printing. Presently we have on the floor: Xeroxes for cut
sheet - 4635 at 600 DPI, and 4180's at 600 DPI, an Océ Pagestream
372 continuous laser at 300 DPI, and Hewlett Packard Laserjets for
approvals and small runs. We see this laser imaging equipment not as
a stand-alone, but as an integral part of our operation, combined
with all the other processes we offer.
Imaging
- Inkjet
Our inkjet equipment - we have 3 different
systems - can be used as stand-alone printing onto a bound
catalogue, envelope, or newsletter. But because they're machine
independent, inkjet heads can also be used on folders, stitchers,
multimailers or minimailers in a number of different ways. The image
area covered is top to bottom, edge to edge, and even two sides.
Selfmailers
The Solopack. selfmailer system is a
complete in-line bindery and ink-jet system that allows simultaneous
folding, gluing, inserting and perforating for unaddressed mailings.
By adding inkjet heads, we can address in a variety of ways to
generate a large array of products to meet your addressed mailing
requirements.
Bindery
SmartDM can handle any bindery requirement, from
folding and trimming, to saddle stitching and even selective binding
for your special projects. Along more traditional lines, we offer a
complete shop for such projects as miniature folders, book
signatures, manuals, perforating, tag stringing and bind-ins, just
to name a few.

Inserting & Mail Preparation
SmartDM takes pride in having one of
Canada's largest inserting production facilities. We can insert up
to 30 pieces in a single pass, in sizes up to 9" X 12"!
Inserting millions of pieces of mail means our materials management
and quality control procedures must be accurate and effective. For
an in-depth look at how we maintain those services see our Promise
section.
SmartDM has many years of experience in the mailing
business. We know all the ins and outs of both the U.S. and Canadian
current postal regulations and requirements. All of our clients
enjoy the option of using either our Canadian or U.S. Postal Service
permits.
Householders
- Unaddressed Admail
Nobody knows more about processing
unaddressed mail. With our exclusive AutoMail System... we can
manipulate automated and current Canada Post counts to suit your
marketing needs. This reduces the kind of waste and non-coverage
that happens when a mailer uses outdated counts.
The AutoMail System also generates the necessary documentation to be
used in a number of different ways. For instance, bindery operations
can be driven by the database, to maximize efficiencies and reduce
costs. Pre-existing brochures or flyers can be mechanically counted
or bundled, which is perfect for over-runs.
Finally, we can take on much of the workload with our extensive
group of services; FSA selection, counts, folding, inserting,
creating unique self- mailers, mail preparation and then - straight
into the hands of Canada Post. Our size in the marketplace gives us
the clout to deal with mailings from small groupings to all points
of call in the country.
Specialized
Mailings and Fulfillment
Both of our facilities have complete manual
departments to handle your special projects. If your program has a
fulfillment element, our complete computerized inventory and
shipping system can be custom designed to exactly suit your needs.
